CHOOSING YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG
Your first dance is one of the moments a lot of us dream about for our big day and choosing the song can be daunting.
You want something that tells the story of the pair of you, means something to you both and something you’ll be happy to dance along to for a good few minutes while your guests stand around you and watch. It’ll be all eyes on the married couple while photos are taken, people cheer and sing/dance along.
So, here’s a list of some songs which are topping the First Dance charts and some you might want to add to your never-ending list of choices…
Truly Madly Deeply – Savage Garden
I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing – Aerosmith
Iris – The Goo Goo Dolls
Make You Feel My Love – Adele
Perfect - Ed Sheeran
Can’t Help Falling In Love – Elvis
Marry You – Bruno Mars
The Way You Look Tonight – Frank Sinatra
All Of Me – John Legend
Marry Me – Train
A Thousand Years – Christina Perry
Time Of My Life – Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
Your Song – Elton John
But of course, there’s some great songs which aren’t your traditional lovey dovey stuff which can make amazing first dances too.
Why not try…
Signed, Sealed Delivered, I’m Yours – Stevie Wonder
Friday I’m In Love - The Cure (great if you marry on a Friday too)
I Wanna Dance With Somebody – Whitney
Walking On Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves
Let’s Get It On – Marvin Gaye
Ho Hey – The Lumineers
All You Need Is Love – The Beatles
Crazy In Love – Beyoncé
Whatever song you choose make it about you and make sure it's one you love to dance to. Another tip, have a bit of a rehearsal with your other half if you're not too sure what you want to do. 3 minutes can feel like forever if you're just awkwardly swaying from side to side.
