Your wedding photos are one of the most important factors of your day, as these are the things you’ll be able to look at in years to come. They’ll bring back memories, make you feel all warm and fuzzy and ultimately will show you all the great parts of your day. ADVICE FROM
THE WRITE WEDDING

Once you have found your photographer, getting to know them and the way in which they work can help to achieve the wedding images you want. Having an engagement shoot is a great way of properly connecting with your photographer, finding out how they work and how they work with you. You’ll get to know them and will feel more comfortable around them when the big day comes, and being comfortable with your photographer is so important.

Your photographer is going to be around you and your guests the whole time. Probably from the minute you wake up to get ready, until the moments of your first dance, so, feeling at ease with them being around is a must.

An engagement shoot is a great idea too if you want to try different things before knowing what style of photos you want for your wedding day. Are you and your partner more natural? A fan of the posed/staged photos? Or do you want snaps taken as if you didn't even know the camera was there? You can try out all of this styles during an engagement shoot and choose what works best for you and what memories you want to capture on the big day.
